Back pain or discomfort? Is back pain common during pregnancy?



Most pregnant women experience back pain, usually starting in the second half of pregnancy. You are not alone if you experience back pain during your pregnancy.  The prevalence varies with reports showing between 50 to 70 % of pregnant women experiencing back pain.
Pregnancy back pain happens where the pelvis meets your spine (sacroiliac joint). Women who had back pain prior to pregnancy or overweight are at risk for back pain
